No guide rods that cause friction with this machine.The new style Powertec lat machine utilizes a smooth lever that operates the resistance. By eliminating the typical guide rod carriage, we were able to provide the smoothest and most quiet lat machine ever.The P-LM is built tough using 2" x 3" steel tubing certainly making this machine gym quality.As with all Powertec products there are always hidden features that are not only one of a kind, but also serve a practical purpose. The last seat section is mounted on an axis allowing it to easily pivot out of the way when using the low cable.The one to one resistance configuration incorporates a continuous cable run that eliminates any cable change. Its always ready to go.As a bonus the machine is also the first to provide a mid-range cable, allowing the trainer to perform ab crunches with the ab strap that comes standard with the unit.All of this value built in one versatile machine at a great price.
